MELANIE G. FARRELL
Since completing my Masters degree in 2009 I have held a variety of positions in the interior design, sales and building construction industries. During that time, I have also made several moves around the country as a military spouse and spent the last few years working primarily from home with my three young children. In 2013, I created an online design consultation business that allows me to work from anywhere with a variety of projects and clients. I have also maintained my position as a design consultant and client liaison with Gray Family Homes and have worked both on site and remotely on several of their luxury custom homes. I am relocating to the Atlanta area this Fall and am now looking to return to work full time in the design and/or construction field. I believe that my experience with the residential construction process and ability to coordinate between clients, contractors, architects and subcontractors gives me a unique perspective in this field.
MGF Interiors is an online interior design consultation company. I am currently working primarily through Laurel and Wolf to offer online design consultations at any budget. I specialize in low budget designs and love the challenge of creating a great and functional look at an affordable price. I also work remotely as the sole virtual designer for Gray Family Homes and Aspen Leaf Construction based in Tampa, Florida and Behind the Curtains Design out of Dallas.

I collaborated on residential, multi-family, restaurant, hospitality, office, and retail projects ranging from new construction to remodel and even flood and fire damage restoration. My responsibilities ranged from individual sales to full project management and always involved balancing multiple projects at any given time.
INTERIOR DESIGNER/SALES ASSOCIATE, THOMASVILLE FURNITURE, SAVANNAH, GA - 2011
My time at Thomasville gave me a unique insight into the retail side of the design industry. I learned a great deal about furniture and accessories, and was exposed to many aspects of the design, manufacturing and distribution of the products as well. I also came to truly appreciate the importance of client relationships on both short and long term projects.
